Year 6 have been studying the famous WW1 poem: Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wildred Owen. Inspired by the powerful language and imagery in the poem, Y6 produced some stunning poems of their own.
Y6 Spooky Spells
Y6 have enjoyed a fantastic day of writing gruesome spells using descriptive language for their ingredients and imperative “bossy” verbs for their instructions!

Dictionary skills
Year 2 have been learning how to use a dictionary to find words. They hAd great fun exploring them to find the meanings of words.
Nursery telling stories with puppets
Nursery have been using puppets to retell stories in the provision. We looked at stories such as the three bears and red riding hood.
The Gruffalo
We have had lots of fun learning about the Julia Donaldson stories. We looked at the Gruffalo and made some Gruffalo crumble. Some of us thought it was delicious, some of us didn’t like it at all! We acted out the rhyme about the big bad mouse too!

Word detectives
Year 2 have been word detectives today. They have been learning to use dictionaries to help them improve their spelling when writing. They had great fun finding given words then transferring them into their personal dictionaries.
Library Y4
This morning, Year 4 visited Egremont Library to choose a book to take home to read and share with family over the Christmas holiday.

Year 4 have been feeling festive in their Christmas jumpers, listening to classic Christmas music while they write a final version of their legends.
