Y1 Paddington Day

Today we enjoyed a special Paddington Day. We have been reading and enjoying the story for a couple of weeks now. Paddington told us to all bring our bears to meet him. He had a long journey from Darkest Peru so we made him a marmalade sandwich to revive him. We found out that Paddington is very old. When we felt him we discovered that he felt very different compared to our modern day bears. We enjoyed learning that he didn’t always have a red hat, blue coat and red wellingtons; these are things that have been added over time. In English we enjoyed describing our own bears in as much detail as we could. We enjoyed a little picnic and finished off with singing the Teddy Bears Picnic song. We are very pleased that all the bears behaved excellently, perhaps they can come back one day.
