Maths week in Reception

Year 5 Anti-Bullying Week 2021
As part of our work during anti- bullying week Year 5 designed an anti- bullying Superhero. They thought about how their Superhero’s powers would stop bullies, how they would protect the vulnerable and what they stand up for.
Year 4 Commemorate Remembrance Day 2021
Year 4 commemorated Remembrance Day by reading some war poetry. They then composed their own poem to express their gratitude to all those who made and continue to make sacrifices in wars. They then made their own poppy display sheet on which to present their poem.

Y6 Remembrance Poppy Watercolours
To mark remembrance day, Y6 drew poppies and used the watercolours to reflect the sombre and reflective mood of the day. They then outlined their designs to make them stand out and evaluated their work effectively.

Poppy artwork in Year 2 2021
Year 2 have spent the afternoon looking at the poppy artwork by the artist Georgia O’Keeffe. They learned how to use chalk pastels to create poppy artwork in her style. They learned how to blend the pastels for a greater effect. They were very pleased with the final result.
Remembrance at the War Memorial 2021
This morning our Year 2 children represented the school at the Remembrance service at Egremont War Memorial. They observed the event with reverence and respect. The class Beacons presented and laid a wreath at the War Memorial that the whole class made. We are very proud of them all.
Year 3 Wear Red for Remembrance Day
Year 3 wore red and joined the rest of Key Stage 2, on the yard, at 11 o’clock for a 2 minute silence to mark Remembrance Day. During the afternoon we created some lovely poppy fields using oil pastels. Lest we forget !
