Today for Number Day Year 1 and Year 6 joined together to take part in some ‘Active Maths’. Year 6 planned maths games and activities for Year 1 to enjoy.  Everyone enjoyed counting, adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying in creative ways.  It was fun learning and being active together.

Year 3 have been exploring transpiration, how water travels in a flower and the functions of vital flower parts. They matched names and functions then labelled a real tulip after taking a very close look to identify the different parts. 

Year 5 enjoyed their first session of forest school at Longlands Lake. They explored the area, whittled wood to make bracelets or necklaces and enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks. They are looking forward to their next session.

Y6 had a fun day to celebrate the Coronation. They enjoyed the bouncy castles, a buffet style street party, singing, entertainment and some dancing on the yard too. Overall, a fantastic day to mark a historic and special event!

Year 1 celebrated in royal style.  We enjoyed making our own crowns to wear at our street party. We decorated ourselves with Union Jack face paints and tattoos.  We bounced till we dropped and finished off with an ice cream or ice lolly.  Having our lunch with all the classes joined together…

For the Coronation of the King celebrations in Reception we had a red, white and blue party. We had face painting, tattoos and crown making. The children also had an ice cream and time to dance and go on the bouncy castle. We had a great day and even had our picture taken as King Charles.
