Our class text - The Boy At The Back Of The Class - has mentioned pomegranates and used some lovely descriptive vocabulary to describe one. Some of the children weren’t too sure what a pomegranate was. So today, we all tried one and created some of our own descriptions focusing on similes and ambitious vocabulary.
There were mixed reviews about how tasty the pomegranate was!
Some words and phrases Year 4 used to describe the pomegranate included:
- a rainbow of flavours
- royal, red rubies hiding inside a suitcase like precious jewels
- tangy taste tickles your tongue
- a purse full of sparkling rubies all bursting to escape
- a sunset of tropical colours
They came up with some lovely ideas.
