Year 3 used their clipboards and geographical knowledge to find physical and human features of Egremont. The bonus was finding conkers as they left the castle too.

A lovely day for Forest School today. All the children had a great time exploring the forest, chilling out in the hammocks and learning how to whittle wood safely.

In honour of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7th, Year 4 have been learning about why and how Christian’s pray the rosary. They have also been learning about the mysteries and how to quietly reflect whilst praying them.

This afternoon the children explored cal and responses in music. They used untuned percussion instruments to create responses to calls. Then they  composed calls and used notation to record their calls.

We have been learning to play musical instruments in Reception such as shakers, bells, wooden blocks and triangles. The children were taught the signals to play the instruments loud and quiet and fast and slow. We then played the instruments along with singing our favourite Nursery rhymes.

Year 5 have been learning about different types of bread from around the world. Today we measured out ingredients to make flat bread and then enjoyed eating it with butter. We were all able to say what was different about this bread and why it didn’t rise. 

Year 3 enjoyed a wet walk to the library. It didn’t stop us from going to broaden our reading! We love new books to take home. Well done Year 3! The librarian even commented on how smart, sensible and respectful we are. True St. Bridget’s children, so proud.

Year 2 have used templates to cut out fabric to make bookmarks. Today the children begun to start sewing the pieces of fabric together. They cannot wait to see what she’d the finished product looks like.
