Year 3 Prayer & Liturgy

St Bridget’s Cross
Year 1 have been hearing the story of St Bridget this week and we have tried to weave a cross. It was quite difficult but with a little help we managed to make some stunning crosses.
Reception visit church
As part of our work on celebrations in R.E., Reception went to church to find artefacts that are used as part of a celebration. They found the different features in the church very interesting and found out some facts about them too.
Y5 Mass
We were so proud of Year 5 today as they celebrated mass with reverence and respect. We learnt that it was St. Vincent’s Feast day today! Keelan, Emily Whelan and Isabella did a good job with their readings and everyone sang beautifully. Well done Year 5!
Baptism
Reception went to church for a baptism. Father Groody led the children through the baptism service and explained what each part means.
Y4 Monstrance pictures

Year 3 The Blessed Sacrament
Today Year 3 enjoyed visiting Church to see the Blessed Sacrament within the Monstrance. We enjoyed quiet reflection and prayer. We devoted time to Jesus and back in school further developed our understanding of the Eucharist.
Year 2 Shabbat
Year 2 have been learning about Shabbat this week. They have written a letter, a poem and designed an information poster. They think it is a great day because it’s a day of complete rest which means no homework.
Y5 Pray the Rosary
Year 5 have tried really hard to pray the Rosary each day and learnt about the Mysteries and how to use Rosary beads. They have also been saying the additional two prayers as requested by Pope Francis. We have really enjoyed this quiet time of reflection.
Y3 and Y6 buddies
As part of our RE work on being good shepherds, Y3 spent a lovely afternoon in Y6 getting to know their new “buddies”. Each younger child has been assigned a Y6 role model to keep them safe and offer a friendly face to them in KS2.
