Year 2 Learn to Skip
In Multiskills Year 2 have been working on performing different types of jumps. As part of this, they have been learning to skip with a skipping rope. They showed great determination to try and master this with some children succeeding. It was a jumping success!
Gymnastics in Year 5
Year 5 have been learning how to do counter balances in gymnastics. They had to keep their bodies taut and lean away from each other whilst remaining in contact by means of a grip. We think they did really well!
First Multiskills Session of the School Year 2024
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed their first Multiskills session with their new coach Liam. The session focused on changing speed and direction. The children showed determination and passion to complete all the activities to their best ability and had great fun while doing so.
PE Fun with the Parachute
Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their PE session today with the parachute and lots of sunshine.
Year 5 Lowther Castle Trip
We all had a great time spending time together exploring the fort at Lowther Castle on our end of year trip. We finished the day with ice lollies to cool off!
Netball Tournament
A huge congratulations to our netball team who took part in a tournament at West Lakes Academy. They worked together as a team taking on board all the coaching skills they had learnt from our netball coach Mrs Parr and came 1st place overall scoring 41 goals! We are very proud of them!
School Games 2024
We had a great day representing Copeland at the School Games in Carlisle playing tri-golf.
Active Playtimes
At St. Bridget’s we encourage Active playtimes. This week the children have been enjoying playing tennis as well using all the other equipment we have available. They also enjoy challenging themselves on our climbing equipment or playing imaginary games in the Forest area.
Euros 2024
In order to show our support for England in the 2024 Euros we have all been wearing football shirts on the day of their matches. Come on England!
Year 3 Rounders 2024
Year 3 were excellent role models today as they represented our school in a rounders competition at St. Benedict’s School. They worked so well as a team and had a wonderful day. Well done everyone!

Active Maths Time
Year 2 began their work on time with an active maths lesson to recap o’clock and half past times. They had great fun moving around the playground in different ways and stopping to make given times on their individual clocks. What a great start it was to their work on time!
