Year 5 Tennis

Year 5 have been learning how to play tennis this half term. They have learnt how to hit the ball underarm, overarm and back hand. They have also been practising serving the ball and finished off the sessions with some mini doubles matches against each other.

Today Year 4 used newspaper to help them learn new skills as part of their Squash coaching. They played the newspaper game to warm up, which helped train their sense of pace and posture, followed by using the newspaper as a target to help teach them coordination and accuracy.
GB Paralympic Footballer in School

We had a fantastic time this morning completing a sports circuit with Jonathan Paterson team GB Paralympic Footballer. Afterwards we learnt all about how he achieved his dream of becoming an Olympic athlete. He certainly inspired us to work hard, believe in ourselves and to always do our best.
