Walk To School Week 2022
It was great to see so many children walking to and from school this week and collecting Street Tags along the way!
Y6 Tag Rugby at Egremont RUFC
Our Y6 Tag Rugby team were delighted to be asked to compete in a tournament at Egremont RUFC last week and won 3 games out of 4. A great show of teamwork and sportsmanship from them all!
Year 3/4 Football Tournament
Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic afternoon at a football tournament at St. Benedict’s School today. They enjoyed practising all the skills they have been learning in PE with our football coach.⚽️⚽️⚽️
Y2 Cricket Skills
Today Year 2 had their first cricket coaching session. The children learned how to hold the cricket bat correctly to strike a bat, throw overarm and to aim at the stumps. They had great fun and cannot wait for their next session.
Year 5 Cricket
Year 5 have had a fantastic morning learning how to throw, catch and hit the ball with our cricket coach Matthew Semphill. They were all keen to practice their new skills in a game of cricket!
Key Stage 1 Multiskills Festival
Today some of the Year 2 children represented our school at a local Multiskills festival at Whitehaven. The children were introduced to a variety of activities where they had to use the skills they have learned during their PE lessons. They enjoyed playing some team games, shooting at a goal,…
Tag Rugby in Y6
Y6 were joined by coaches of Egremont RUFC for a morning of Tag Rugby. They were taught passing skills, how to form a defensive line and practised scoring tries. A great morning in glorious sunshine which everyone really enjoyed.
Dance in Year 4
Year 4 are learning lots of different dance moves and putting them together in a short sequence to music to create a group dance.
Year 5 Cyclewise
Year 5 have had a fantastic week doing Cyclewise. They have learnt lots of new skills including how to turn in and out of junctions safely. They have had lots of fun cycling around Egremont putting these skills into practice.
Learning new ball skills
In the final multi skills session of this half term, the Year 2 children learned how to use a hockey stick to dribble a ball. They ended the session with a short game of hockey. What a great game they had!
Year 3 improve their ball skills
We have enjoyed practising our ball control with Stuart our sports coach.
Gymnastics with apparatus in Reception
In Reception we have started our gymnastics sessions using the apparatus. We have been developing our skills in jumping, climbing, balancing and rolling. We also had to use our skills of taking turns and waiting our turn. The children have made lots of progress and built up their confidence…
