Year 5 had a great time with their friends at our annual ‘Friendship Disco’ as part of ‘Anti-Bullying Week.’ They enjoyed dancing to their favourite songs and then chilling out chatting with each other enjoying some refreshments.

A huge well done to our Serena who braved the crisp, cold Autumnal weather at the weekend when she volunteered at the Wasdale Show. She even entered a couple of races; coming second in the Egg and Spoon Race and third in the Sack Race.

Year 5 has a great time at Forest School today. They enjoyed lying in the hammocks, climbing trees and sawing wood in preparation for making a Christmas tree!

Year 5 enjoyed meeting all the animals from Pet Encounters. They held Java and Noodle the snakes and learnt that they aren’t actually slimy! Henry the parrot was a huge hit with his hilarious repertoire of noises and words. We all had a look at the tarantula and tried to spot the chameleon…

Thank you to The Brilliant Cumbria initiative for organising a pet Encounters to visit today. We enjoyed being challenged to face our fears and to learn about the animals.  We were all very brave and had so much fun. Thank you to Pet Encounters.
 

Today the Y5 children voted for who they wanted to represent them as a class on the School Council. The children who wanted to be considered all prepared speeches explaining why they would be good for the job. The two children elected are excited to start their new role. 

A huge congratulations to Faith who came 2nd place in a competition run by the Harbour Commission. She painted this amazing picture of Stella the seal. We are very impressed and so proud of her!

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time at Walby Farm Park to mark the end of term.They thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Play Barn and challenging themselves to go down the steep red slide. They had so much fun playing hide and seek in the Roman fort. The day was rounded off with an icecream to help…
