Our Y5 children enjoyed an afternoon sampling life in Y6. They used oil-pastels to create fantastic self-portraits of themselves - what an arty bunch! Then asked lots of sensible questions about Y6.

Reception found out all about the Summer Reading Challenge then enjoyed a story from the librarian. Finally they chose a book to borrow and read through the Summer holidays.

Year One have had a fabulous visit to the library this morning. We heard all about the summer reading challenge and have some keen readers ready to tackle the challenge.  

Year 1 spent the afternoon finding out what it will be like in Year 2 next academic year. They finished the afternoon enjoying listening to a story outside in the fresh air.

Year 2 have been learning about germination in science. Today they carried out their investigations to test what the best conditions are for germination. 

Reception have had a fantastic time in Year 1 this afternoon.  They read the story Only One You and designed their own stone fish ready to paint in September.  They have also brought home a paper bag to fill with three items over the summer holiday and bring back on the first day of Year…

Reception had a great time at the last art and craft club of the term. They made dancing snakes then danced with them to music of their choice. The chosen songs were ‘Happy’ and ‘Three Lions’.

Year 2 enjoyed a visit from a young trainee Police Dog this afternoon. They all sensibly stroked the dog and asked questions about its role within the police force. We think the dog enjoyed his visit as much as we did! 

Year 2 enjoyed visiting Egremont Library this morning. They found out about this year’s Summer Reading Challenge and are looking forward to joining in. The librarian was very impressed with their knowledge of children’s authors. 

We were very lucky to have the police dogs visit Year 1 today. The children had some very interesting questions for the handlers.  We found out about how they are trained and what they like to eat, amongst other things.
