Ordering the months of the year
In Year 1 today we have been ordering the months of the year. We wrote the months on strips of paper to practise our spelling and then ordered them into paper chains. They look amazing hanging in our book corner.
Y6 Kwik Cricket County Finals
Mrs Taylor and Mrs Robson were delighted to take 8 of our Y6 boys to the Kwik Cricket Finals at Keswick. The boys played brilliantly and came runners up in their group, narrowly missing out on a place in the semi-final. The sun shone and we were able to enjoy a picnic between games. There was even…
Police dog visit
Reception were very excited by a visit from the trainee police dog this afternoon. They all gave him a stroke. Afterwards they had time to ask questions about the police dog and the job of a police officer.
Nursery's fruit kebabs
Nursery made some fruit kebabs this week. The children picked their favourite fruits, made them into a kebab and at the end they got to eat it. Yummy!
Nursery Outdoor Mark Making
Nursery have been trying out our new outdoor mark making tools. With large paper and paint the children made different patterns with the tools. They had so much fun!
Year 3/4 Greater Manchester Police Visit
Year 3 and 4 had a great experience today. They took part in the Greater Manchester Police , Prison and School Engagement Programme learning lots about keeping safe.
Y4 Weir Visit
Year 4 were lucky enough to be invited by Cumbria River Trust to watch the destruction of Ennerdale Mill Weir. We learnt the history of the mill and why it was built, then all about why it is necessary for it to be demolished.
Year 2 African Silhouettes
As past of our topic: ‘Escape to Africa’ Year 2 spent a few days creating an African Silhouette. They used many skills including painting, drawing and cutting to create their own picture.
Year 4 Rounders Tournament
Year 4 enjoyed a rounders tournament today, hosted at our school. All the schools won 1 game each so it was declared a draw! However St Bridget’s won 24 rounders (the most) so won overall! Well done everyone!
Year 2 R.E.
Today Year 2 have been learning about conscience and reconciliation during R.E. They examined their own consciences and the importance of saying sorry and really meaning it. Afterwards, they learnt a ‘Sorry Prayer’.
Year Roman Museum Trip
Year 4 had a great day at the Roman Museum. We learnt all about the Roman fort that used to be there.
