This week we had a visit to St Bridget’s very own polling station. Year One enjoyed voting for their choice of school council candidate and posting their vote in the ballot box. School councillors were announced in assembly. Well done to our new councillors, Jack and Ernie. 

Year One have had great fun in exploring mark making in our art lessons. We have been learning how to make a variety of marks using different mediums, exploring how they appear on different textures. We were very happy and proud of our finished artwork.

In R.E. Year One are learning about the story of Creation. Today we worked in groups to act out the different days of Creation. Using their bodies Year 1 became mountains, trees, water, birds, Adam and Eve, the sun and the moon. Everyone worked fantastically to bring the Creation story to life.

Reception had a fantastic morning in Year 1. They enjoyed meeting Mrs Bond, Mrs Robson and Mrs Benn. They had a great time exploring the classroom and getting to know their new teachers.

We are delighted to celebrate our fantastic phonics screening results. All the children have worked incredibly hard to prepare. Thank you to our parents for all their support at home. Everyone received a certificate and a treat.  Well done Year 1 superstars.

Congratulations to the Blue Team for winning Sports Day 2024. A huge well done to all the children who took part in our races. All the teams showed exceptional teamwork, determination and competitiveness!
