Year 2 have been learning about books in R.E. They visited church to find out about the books used there. They learnt about who uses the different books and what they are used for. The children spent some time looking at the Mass and Hymn books used by the parishioners.

Reception were learning about the life of St Bridget on her feast day. We learnt about the importance of the cross, which is represented on our school badge. The children then made their own version of the cross using peg boards and pegs.

Today we celebrated the feast of our Patron St. Bridget by going to mass. We all sang a hymn dedicated to St.Bridget beautifully. Back in school we learnt all about St. Bridget’s life then wrote our own prayers to her. 

Year 3 have been learning all about their Patron Saint Bridget. They attended church, learnt the St. Bridget hymn, listened to the story of St. Bridget’s cloak, did some fact finding and created their own storyboards, bookmarks and cloak pieces. A busy Bridget’s day.
