Y6 have enjoyed World Book Day. We had a wonderful collection of characters today including: Anne of Green Gables, Gangsta Granny, Willy Wonka and Dennis the Menace! Super efforts all round.

Year 5 learnt all about the importance of Ash Wednesday as being the start of Lent. They received an ash cross on their forehead.

Shrove Tuesday in Y1
We have been learning the meaning behind Shrove Tuesday and have discovered that we say sorry to God to be ‘shriven’. We then enjoyed delicious pancakes in preparation for Lent.
Multiskills
Year one sent some representatives to St Benedict’s today for a multiskills tournament. They were very well behaved and had a great time joining in on all these games.
Pancake Day fun
Reception have been learning about why we have Pancake Day and what people around the world do to celebrate it. They had great fun taking part in pancake races with each other.
Nursery’s pancakes
Nursery celebrated pancake day with some yummy pancakes. They could have chocolate, jam or lemon juice on them. What a surprise when they all chose chocolate or jam! Some children even came back for another one. Happy pancake day!
