Celebrating pancake day in Nursery
Nursery celebrated pancake day yesterday by making and eating some pancakes. Some of our children had a turn at flipping the pancakes too in the frying pan. We had the choice of syrup, chocolate sauce or jam to go on them. Yum yum!
Y5 Library Visit 25.2.20
Y5 visited the library today to chose some exciting new books. They were able to say why they chose their book and enjoyed some quiet time reading them back in class.
Writing a recipe for making pancakes!
Today we celebrated Shrove Tuesday by making pancakes and writing a recipe to describe how we made them. We learnt the key features of an instructional text and enjoyed choosing our preferred toppings. Yummy!
Key Steps gymnastics
Twelve children from Year 2 took part in the Key Steps gymnastics competition at St Gregory’s and St Patrick’s School in Whitehaven. Four children achieved the advanced level and eight children achieved the intermediate level. We are very proud of them all!
Wasdale Mountain Rescue visit
Wasdale Mountain Rescue team visited our school this morning to tell us all bout how they save people in trouble on mountains. They showed us all the equipment they used and amazed us with their stories of rescue operations.
Y5 Bikeability
Year 5 had a great week learning how to stay safe on the road on their bikes during Bikeability.

As part of our topic on Earth and Space we designed and made our own Moon Buggies! We looked at features on real moon buggies and tried to include them in our own designs. As you can see we made some fantastic vehicles.

Year 4 Hockey 2020
Year 4 have been learning some key hockey skills ready for an upcoming tournament.

Year 4 explored the concept of how to be safe online by revealing only the information that they want to reveal. They then designed and created thier own Avatar to represent their online identity. Can you guess who these Avatars represent? #freetobeme
Y1 Treasure Hunt
On Friday our phonics frog Fred made a treasure hunt for us along with some help from Miss Flynn and some Year 5 helpers. We had a map to follow and hunted high and low for clues all around school. It was lots of fun and we enjoyed working out the clues, some were linked to our Geography topic…
