As part of National Sport Week today, Year 4 learned some racket skills in preparation for a game of tennis.

National Sport Week Day 2
Today, as part of National Sport Week, Year 4 have been back outside being active. They have been learning how to coordinate themselves so that they can jump over hurdles. They have also been learning how to skip with a skipping rope; some children can already skip so they were trying challenges…
National School Sport Week
As part of National School Sport Week, Year 4 have had an additional P.E lesson. Today they learned about how to sustain running without stopping by exploring their individual pace. They also learned about the importance of adopting a good running form and stretching.
NSPCC Big Breaktime
Year 4 enjoyed an extended playtime this morning in the sunshine. They thoroughly enjoyed using the new equipment and the extra time being active.
Textiles Project
The final part of our Design and Technology project was to use their new sewing skills and knowledge to solve the problem of how to stop a tea-towel from slipping off a hook. They used a template and different sewing techniques to make a hanger for a tea towel.
Earthsong Project

Platinum Jubilee Y4
Y4 have had a wonderful day celebrating our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They created collage portraits of the Queen and then they joined with the rest of the school to enjoy a traditional street party with ice-cream, picnic and music and dancing on the yard.
Mile-a-Day
Keeping fit by practising maintaining a constant pace for a mile after some running drills to develop good posture and range of motion.
The Digestive System Y4
