Year 5 and 6 Trip to Walby Farm Park

D&T in Year 5
Year 5 used recycled jeans to make their own bag. They chose denim as it is durable and will last a long time. They used a running stitch and back stitch to sew it up.
Year 5 Tennis
Year 5 have been learning how to play tennis this half term. They have learnt how to hit the ball underarm, overarm and back hand. They have also been practising serving the ball and finished off the sessions with some mini doubles matches against each other.
Y5 Sports Day 2023
A huge well done to all of Year 5 who tried so hard in all of their races on Sports Day. Congratulations to the Green Team who won this year!
GB Paralympic Footballer in School
We had a fantastic time this morning completing a sports circuit with Jonathan Paterson team GB Paralympic Footballer. Afterwards we learnt all about how he achieved his dream of becoming an Olympic athlete. He certainly inspired us to work hard, believe in ourselves and to always do our best.
Year 5 Library Visit
Year 5 enjoyed their trembly visit to Egremont Library today. They returned their books from last time and chose a new one. They read the blurb to help them decide if they would be interested in it. Once they had chosen book they had some quiet time to sit and enjoy it.
Year 5 Orienteering
Year 5 went to Muncaster Castle to practice their orienteering skills and reading Ordnance Survey maps. They had to follow the map to certain points then find the hidden letter. They used their knowledge of Ordnance survey map symbols to help them. We also had time for some fun on the play parks!

Kidz Fit in Y5/6

Fun at Forest School
Year 5 enjoyed their first session of forest school at Longlands Lake. They explored the area, whittled wood to make bracelets or necklaces and enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks. They are looking forward to their next session.
Swimming Gala
