Wasdale Mountain Rescue visit
Wasdale Mountain Rescue team visited our school this morning to tell us all bout how they save people in trouble on mountains. They showed us all the equipment they used and amazed us with their stories of rescue operations.
Y5 Mountains
Y5 launched their ‘Mountains topic’ by making concept maps. They wrote what they already know about mountains then did some research and added facts.⛰
Investigating properties of rocks
Today, we learnt lots of new vocabulary to describe rocks such as: igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic, permeable, durable and density. We used this vocabulary to describe our rocks and their properties.

Year 2 have been learning about the different countries of the Uk and the waters that surround it. They used non-fiction texts (including the internet) to find out about which animals live in the waters around the UK.
Year 2 Flags
Year 2 have been learning about the flags of South Africa and what each colour represents. Do you know why it has so many different colours? The children chose which medium they wanted to use to colour in their flags.
