Year 2 had a wonderful time at the Friendship Disco dancing and chatting with their friends from Reception,Year 1 and Year 2. They had thoroughly earned their drink and snack halfway through before continuing to dance to the end.

Year One had an awesome time dancing and celebrating friendship with their friends as part of anti bullying week. 

Reception came to school in blue or in their own clothes to support Anti-Bullying week. They talked about how they can be good friends and what to do if they ever need help. Everyone is looking forward to the ‘Friendship Disco’. 
 

Reception have been learning about the Advent Wreath. They found out that ‘Advent’ means getting ready for Christmas and that the Advent Wreath is used in church to to count down to Christmas by lighting the candles. They found out about the different coloured candles used and their meaning.…

As part of Anti-Bullying Week the children came to school dressed in odd socks to celebrate their individuality and to stand up to bullying and discrimination. All the children were proud of the socks they wore and had great fun looking at the different combinations worn by others.

Today we wore odd socks to show that it’s ok to be different and to stand up against bullying and discrimination. We also learnt how online bullying can be different to bullying in the physical world but both have mental and emotional impact on a persons health.

Year 3 enjoyed listening to Stone Age stories and choosing books to take home. The librarian said they were the best behaved children she had ever had.

Year 3 carried out online-awareness activities about cyber bullying as they created posters to share how to be safe online. 
They also found a friendship bear hiding on top of the whiteboard! He sent them a special message. We did lots of fun activities that week. 
 

Today Year 5 attended a XC fitness challenge at St. Benedict’s school. They ran a 2km course and we’re all timed. An average time will be taken from this. In June we will return and run the course again aiming to improve our average time. All the children did incredibly well in the muddy…

Year 6 have been studying the Remembrance poem ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon as part of their writing lessons. At the end of the unit, they chose a verse to learn by heart and performed it. They practised speaking rhythmically, varying the volume and intonation of their voices.  They also…
