Year 2 started a new maths unit today on position and direction. Today they were using the positional words left, right, backwards and forwards. They had great fun giving instructions to their partners to move around the playground.

Year 3 had a great time on design and technology day, making garden flowers and planters from re-cycled bottles. This linked nicely to our science topic on plants. The children enjoyed painting and bending the plastic bottles to make garden decorations and flower planters hung with ribbon.

Year 3 enjoyed practising their ball skills with Mr Green. They were passing, stopping and controlling the ball. 
 

Year 4 are really enjoying developing the skills needed for cricket. They particularly enjoyed using their news skills to gain points in the game.

Year 2 enjoyed their first cricket coaching session today. They worked on throwing, catching, hitting a ball and hitting wickets. They worked really hard to master these skills and cannot wait to see what they will be learning in their next session.

Y6 kicked off the final half-term of the summer term with their first athletics lesson with Mrs Mason. They learnt how to bounce lightly on their toes and place their arms in the correct position to optimise their best possible running style and technique. 

Year 4 are really enjoying learning how to play squash. Alongside developing racket and ball skills, they are learning the rules of the game and keeping fit and active.
