Year 5

We all had a great time spending time together exploring the fort at Lowther Castle on our end of year trip. We finished the day with ice lollies to cool off!

At St. Bridget’s we encourage Active playtimes. This week the children have been enjoying playing tennis as well using all the other equipment we have available. They also enjoy challenging themselves on our climbing equipment or playing imaginary games in the Forest area.

Year 5 have been swimming every afternoon this week at Copeland pool. They have all improved their swimming skills on this intense course. Today they learnt how to take off their pyjamas in the water and create a float for their life saving skills. 

Year 5 went to mass today to celebrate The Feast of the Sacred Heart.

Group B had a great time at Forest School yesterday for their last session. They still enjoyed climbing trees, playing in the mud and chilling out in the hammocks despite the rain! 

This week we celebrated two second places in a Panathlon and Bowling tournament. Well done to all the children who took part. 

We had a great morning at Egremont Bowling Club learning how to bowl and competing against other local schools. We were delighted to come in second place. Thank you to all the members of Egremont Bowling Club for inviting us and taking the time to teach us the skills. 

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic morning at Penrith Leisure centre this morning taking part in a Panathlon final. They completed 6 different events which involved using skills such as throwing, catching and aiming at a target. They all showed impeccable manners and great sportsmanship skills. They…
