Year 3

Today, we learnt lots of new vocabulary to describe rocks such as: igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic, permeable, durable and density. We used this vocabulary to describe our rocks and their properties. 

We worked so efficiently through our workshops so we even had time for making our own Stone Age rope, using rushes! We had a great day and learnt so much!

After a treasure hunt for evidence of hunter gatherers, in the woods, we enjoyed our lunch. Following that, we made copper imprints and used natural pigments to create a cave painting

We come to the end of our place value work and use our knowledge in a basketball game!

We were very busy this afternoon, making our Grandparents a colourful card to show how much we love and appreciate them. Each petal had a special quality that we love about them. Happy Grandparents day for October 6th.

Year 3 test their endurance with mile a day challenge!

We are working really hard to boost our scores and climb the TTR status ladder.  Soon we will be times tables super stars!

Y3 had a great time this afternoon, learning new hockey skills. Passing and stopping the ball with great accuracy.

Using base 10, our place value chart, games and team work; children gained a much better understanding of the value of digits within 3 digit numbers.
