Messy Maths
Some of the Reception children went outdoors for their Maths lesson. They practised their number recognition and counting skills by collecting a number of objects in a numbered plant pot. Great fun was had by everyone!
Castles session
Reception visited Tullie House for a castles session. They listened to a story about a giant’s castle then went to explore the museum to see if they could find the giant’s cat. There were lots of activities in the classroom for the children to take part in too. They had great fun building castles…
Reception Parent Afternoon
This afternoon the Reception children took great pride in sharing their learning journeys with parents and family. Then they worked in the provision, outdoors and indoors, to share more learning experiences together.
The Kindness Elves last days in Reception.

What have the Kindness Elves been up to this week!
This week the Kindness Elves asked Reception to make a Christmas decoration for a friend or family member.Today we have been helping each other to take photos of ourselves using the Christmas photo props. We have had such a giggle!
Christmas fun!
This week Reception have been taking part in lots of fun Christmas activities: decorating a Christmas tree, creating Christmas wrapping paper, visiting Santa in the outdoor grotto, making Christmas tree words and completing Christmas patterns on the interactive screen.
Reception Nativity Play
Today the Reception Children did two performances of their nativity play for families and friends. The play was called ‘Whoops-a-Daisy Angel.’ We are very proud of their singing and dancing. They are all little superstars!
The Kindness Elves. Day 5.
Today the children were very surprised to find the Kindness Elves in the Creative area. They had left some Christmas cards for the Reception children to colour then write their name in. These cards will be given to people in the local community.
The Kindness Elves. Day 4.
Today the Kindness Elves asked the Reception children to smile at everyone they see. They smiled at everyone during the dress rehearsal of their nativity play. They kept smiling all day and can’t wait to perform their play for parents and friends next week.

Today the Kindness Elves left a note to ask the Reception children to give someone a hug and tell them why they love them. The children were able to think of lots of lovely, kind words for their friends.

This morning the children were excited to find out their first challenge from the Kindness Elves who arrived yesterday. The Kindness Elves asked them to show kindness by sharing a book with a friend. The children rose to the challenge. The reading area has never been so busy!
