Year 3 were looking fantastic wearing blue to celebrate Our Lady of the Rosary on Monday 4th of October. We learnt how to pray the Rosary, learnt about the four Mysteries - Luminous, Sorrowful, Joyous and Glorious. We created our own tissue beads and designed stained glass windows. A busy day

Year 3 mixed flour, glue and paint to give a thick texture to their paint. Then they studied Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry night” and painted in his style.

Year 3 have been learning about different types of rocks, metamorphic,sedimentary and igneous. They have sorted different rocks into these groups, studied them and drawn them. Great observations Year 3

Ivy was leading Prayer and Liturgy in Year 3, she did a great job reading a new prayer with the rest of the class. Well done

After hearing some very thoughtful manifestos, we narrowed down our Year 3 candidates with a vote. Children placed their ballot papers in a sealed box to elect 2 School Councillors from our class.

Year 3 have been using their map reading skills and knowledge of the compass to move around the playground using cardinal and inter-cardinal points. 
 

Year 3 enjoyed their day at Lowther Castle. Great fun at the fort. 
 

At St. Bridget’s we encourage Active playtimes. This week the children have been enjoying playing tennis as well using all the other equipment we have available. They also enjoy challenging themselves on our climbing equipment or playing imaginary games in the Forest area. 

Year 3 were excellent role models today as they represented our school in a rounders competition at St. Benedict’s School. They worked so well as a team and had a wonderful day. Well done everyone!

Year 3 have been studying OS maps, looking at our local area and learning to find features using coordinates and symbols. They have discovered human and physical features of our local area and considered the difference between them. 
 

Year 3 have been studying shapes, both 2D and 3D,. They have been learning the names and properties of the 3D shapes. They built their own 3D shapes with cubes, counting faces, vertices and edges.
