In Maths we have been learning about how to find different ways to make numbers. We made different numbers with objects, dots and using dominoes. The children then made their own ladybirds and added a number of dots to each one.

In Reception we have started our gymnastics sessions using the apparatus. We have been developing our skills in jumping, climbing, balancing and rolling. We also had to use our skills of taking turns and waiting our turn. The children have made lots of progress and built up their confidence…

Reception had a party to celebrate Christmas. We had an afternoon tea of party food and played party games such as musical chairs, bumps, statues and pin the nose on Santa. What a great party! 
 

On Christmas jumper day Reception took part in some Christmas crafts and also had a special visit from Santa.

In Reception we have been reading the story of Supertato and his other adventures. The children have been drawing and labelling their own characters and we then got to make them with real vegetables. Super veggies to the rescue! 
 

For Maths week Reception played lots of games with dice. We used a games sheet and added our own counters and characters to play the game and matched our dice to dominoes. Maths in Reception is lots of fun!
 

Reception and Nursery celebrated Bonfire night with some fireworks and sparklers and even a hot chocolate. In the afternoon Reception also made their own chocolate apples. Happy Bonfire night.

Reception class enjoyed a lovely morning trying out their new Year 1 classroom.  We made England flags, paper chains and sang football songs.  We enjoyed working on some art work that will be in our class when we return in September.  Our favourite part was playing on the new castle.   Mrs Robson…
