Year 2 enjoyed their first library van visit of the new school year. They enjoyed listening to a story read by the librarian before choosing a book each to take back to class. They are all looking forward to enjoying these in class over the coming weeks.

In Reception we celebrated Bonfire night by learning about how to be safe around fireworks and sparklers. We then had our own sparkler using a carrot as a handle and then joined Nursery to watch our own firework. We finished the day with a hot chocolate and a biscuit.

The Library Van visited our school today. Everyone had the opportunity to choose a library book. There was so much choice! Some of us have already arranged to swap our books with each other after we’ve read them. 
 

Year 2 visited Egremont Library today to exchange books and choose a new book to take home. They had great fun looking at the different types of books available and shared them with each other. Year 6 enjoyed a visit to their local library, Egremont Library, this afternoon. They are learning how to take responsibility for returning a book before withdrawing another. Tracey, the librarian, was very impressed with how many children returned their book.

Yesterday we wore the colour yellow to celebrate and raise money for World Mental Health Day. Our children enjoyed some face paint and an impromptu dance session with DJ Rafi. 

This week. Nursery had a go at baking some chocolate cupcakes for snack. They waited and took turns when baking them and they tasted delicious too!
