Y5 Sunflowers

Y5 science
Year 5 carried out an investigation to see if they could separate a mixture of sand, salt and water. They discovered that filtering the mixture separated the sand and evaporation separated the salt and water.
Y5 Viking Trip
Y5 had a great day on their Anglo-Saxons and Viking Trip. They learnt how to make ink and quills, how to weave and how to make coins on a furnace. They also learnt how to handle weapons and re-enacted a battle.
Y5 Viking Boy Images
After reading a paragraph from Viking Boy describing the ‘God Temple’, Y5 drew a pencil sketch showing their interpretation of the description.
Y5 Viking Art
Year 5 studied different styles of art created in the Viking era and drew their own pencil sketches in a similar style.
Y5 TTRockstars
We all had a great time dressing up as rockstars and practising our x tables on TT Rock Stars!
Y5 library visit 17.9.19
Y5 enjoyed choosing and reading new books today at Egremont Library.
Y5 Viking butter
Year 5 enjoyed making Viking butter today by shaking cream until it turned into butter. They learnt that Vikings would have done this in a butter churn and it was one of the many ways they preserved food.
Y5 active maths
Year 5 have been enjoying some Active Maths. They had to find the answers to questions, on numbers to a million, placed around the classroom.
