In Reception we read the story of the Gingerbread man during our topic, 'Once upon a time'. The children retold the story, acted it out and we then made our own gingerbread man. These ones had no chance to run away though as the children had eaten them all up!

Bonfire night celebrations in Reception
In Reception we celebrated Bonfire night by having some sparklers and firework fun. The children all had a sparkler and we had some fireworks with Nursery. We also had some hot chocolate and biscuits and learnt all about being safe on Bonfire night.
Spooky time in Reception
In Reception we had a spooky day on the last day of half term. The children came in their spooky costumes and we played games and had some food. We also joined Nursery in the afternoon for ,pre games and to celebrate a birthday with a pumpkin cake.
Funny bones skeleton art
The children have been reading the story of Funny bones in class and talking about our bodies. They then made their own skeleton art using craft straws. They made the big skeleton, the little skeleton and their favourite the dog skeleton.
Rainy fun in Reception
In Reception we have fun outside in all weathers. There is no such thing as bad weather when you have the right waterproofs and wellies. The children had lots of fun in the rain and even turned it into soapy rain water.
Rhythm dancing with scarves in PE
In PE the children have been dancing to different rhythms and music using our dance scarves. The children moved the scarves to the music and also worked in partners to create some rhythm dancing.
