Year 2 had a great time celebrating World Book Day in school and from home. They shared books with each other, read in unusual places, recorded video book reviews and created book quizzes using Purple Mash.
Celebrating St David our Class Saint

During lockdown Year 2 are continuing to learn about the Great Fire of London. This week they learned about how the fire was put out then they created a silhouette artwork of the fire.
Coding pantomime
This afternoon Year 2 had a very special treat. They may not have been able to go to the pantomime but we brought the pantomime and popcorn to them. It was called ‘Al and the Three Bears.’ It was great fun and we learned about about algorithms while watching it too.
Learning to sew
Over the past few weeks Year 2 have been learning how to sew. They began by learning how to do a running stitch then they used a template to cut out the fabric they needed to. Today some of the children sewed their fabric together to make a pouch.
Anti Bullying week
During Anti-bullying Week Year 2 have been thinking about this year’s theme of being united against bullying. They have been learning about ways they can help to stop bullying taking place.
Spooky art
During our Spooky Spectacular the children learned all about the artist Joan Miro and looked at how he used lines and shapes to create his artwork. The children explored using lines and shapes to create their own surreal artwork of a spooky creature/scene.
