- Year 6 have been reflecting on the impact of human activity on the environment. We began by exploring all the amazing technologies that have improved the quality of our lives - things like washing machines, cars, aeroplanes and even plastic containers. However, we also acknowledged that these wonderful advances come at a cost: many of these are damaging our beautiful planet and the vast array of living organisms (e.g. harmful gases, micro plastics in our food chains) . We agreed that it is very sad that so much damage has been done. Therefore, we looked at the many ways we can make changes to our lifestyle habits that can help to protect the earth for ourselves and future generations - this included buying secondhand clothing, avoiding buying plastic or reusing and recycling etc. We then celebrated our beautiful oceans in art by creating a diorama of the ocean to illustrate why we need to protect them.
