As part of Science Week, Year 5 were given the challenge of designing a way for Rapunzel to escape from her tower. The children came up with lots of imaginative ideas including slides, lifts, ladders, ropes and poles to help her get down safely. They then developed their designs further by adding a soft landing, such as trampolines, pillows, bales of hay and even a pool!
Everyone had great fun working as a team and presenting their designs to Mrs Robson, our Science Coordinator. She chose the slide supported in the style of a viaduct as the winning idea, as she felt it showed real engineering potential. Well done Year 5!
