During Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, organised by Place2Be, our school came together to recognise the importance of children’s wellbeing. To show our support, everyone wore blue to school, creating a wonderful sense of unity and reminding us all that mental health matters.
Year 6 explored the theme of belonging through a creative “My Place” collage project. They designed their own imaginary islands, thinking carefully about what makes them feel safe, happy and accepted. Their islands included the fells, cosy reading spaces, family homes, pets, football pitches and peaceful natural settings. Each collage was unique and reflected what belonging means to them personally.
The week gave us time to talk about feelings, celebrate what connects us, and remember that everyone deserves to feel supported and valued.
