As part of National Drowning Prevention Week we had a fantastic visit from The Coastguard. Sarah told Year 1 all about the job of the Coastguard. They found out what to do in an emergency and the number they need to call. Year 1 learned about water safety and how dangerous water can be. They found out how dangerous floats can be, if used at the beach in the sea. Year 1 practised making the shape of a starfish and found out that doing this can help you float and may save your life. Year 1 are definitely more aware of how to be safe now and are all wanting to sign up to be future Coastguards! Thank you to Sarah from The Coastguard for a great visit.
