This week, the children have enjoyed using an exciting rehearsal room technique to enhance their writing of reporting clauses. By acting out and freeze framing the dialogue they had planned, they were able to explore how characters would speak, move and respond in different situations. This helped the children to choose more powerful speech verbs, rather than using simple alternatives. They also focused on using facial expressions and actions to show emotions and intentions, helping them to create more vivid and engaging dialogue.
