For Safer Internet Day 2025, the theme was “Smart Tech, Safe Choices – Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of AI.”
Year 5 learned about what artificial intelligence (AI) is and discussed its advantages and disadvantages. They agreed that AI can be very helpful for answering questions and solving problems quickly. However, they also recognised that it can sometimes give false or misleading information.
The children reflected thoughtfully on how using AI too much might make people a little lazy, stop them from trying to solve problems independently, and even reduce creativity.
We concluded that while AI has many useful benefits, it is important to use it responsibly and always try to use our own brains first.
