On Internet Safety Day, Year 6 took part in an exciting nationwide live lesson focused on AI chatbots. We learned what artificial intelligence is, how chatbots work, and where we might see them used in everyday life, such as helping answer questions online or supporting learning. We also discussed the benefits of chatbots, as well as why it’s important to use them sensibly and safely.
After the lesson, Year 6 put their learning into action by designing informative posters about chatbots. These were created especially for younger children to help them understand what chatbots are and how to stay safe when using them. The posters included key messages such as not sharing personal information, checking information with a trusted adult, and remembering that chatbots are tools—not people. It was a fantastic day of learning, creativity, and teamwork, helping us all become safer and more confident online.
