Year 1 were challenged to use bread as a building material. They used icing sugar to create cement. They decided to toast the bread to make it more sturdy to build with. The children planned their designs before they began constructing them. They worked together in small groups to create the designs and modified their builds where necessary. Afterwards the children evaluated their models and the choices they made during construction. It was lots of fun and the structures just about survived being made without being nibbled first! Great engineering Year 1.
