For Science Engineers Week, Year 6 with tasked with solving the problem of how Jack (from the fairytale Jack and the Beanstalk) could safely get the golden egg from the top of the beanstalk to the bottom. They were all given a set of resources and planned how they would build a contraption that would carry a raw egg from a height to the ground without breaking. They could only use the resources that were given to them but could trade with other groups in they wanted different materials to the ones they had.
After building their designs, they tested them to see if the egg survived the fall. There certainly were some great designs. Perhaps we have some budding engineers in our midst.
