In D&T year 5 have been learning about food and nutrition. They learnt about different types of bread that are eaten around the world and made their own unleavened flat bread which they enjoyed eating with garlic butter.
They also learnt that in Denmark they eat a type of bread called rye bread which is full of fibre and seeds making it extra nutritious. This is used to make a type of open sandwich called a Smorrebrod which is layered with delicious meats and vegetables. All the children designed and made their own Smorrebrod and did their best to make it look appealing and appetising.
