Map Skills and Orienteering

What a brilliant day Year 4 had at Whinlatter! They spent the day learning how to apply their map skills at Whinlatter Forest Park. After a quick recap of identifying symbols on a map, each group used their map to find the answers to questions. We even had a special guest appearance from a lizard! After lunch, they used an orienteering map to find the marked locations and punch their map with the marker each time they found the specified point. There are definitely some natural orienteers amongst the class. To end the day, they enjoyed some time on the activities climbing, swinging, playing ping pong and much more.
