Year 4

Year 4 had a fun day doing creepy maths co-ordinates, writing spooky stories using expanded noun phrases and drawing haunted house using chalk on black paper. They were also lucky to receive awesome treats from Maxwell and Summer! 

Y4 used their topic library books on Rivers to find out facts about world Rivers. They then made information posters to show off all their knowledge! 

Year 4 enjoyed their visit to the library. They listened to a story then picked a book of their choice. They were encouraged to read the blurb first to see if the book would interest them. 

Y4 have been learning how long their intestines are. They learnt that they are 6.5m long and measured this length out. 

Y4 had fun problem solving in maths today! 

Y4 have had an amazing experience on their residential to Gillerthwaite in Ennerdale. They were all really well behaved, had lovely manners and were a credit to our school. The activities we did were a photo treasure hunt, river dipping, drawing a map, natural art, climbing trees, bat hunting and…

Y4 have been learning about the human digestive system. We made a working model out of weetabix, coke, and tights to show how food passes through our body. There was much laughter and disgust at the end product!

Our theme in Prayer and Liturgy was love your neighbour. Our leaders asked the class to sit in a heart shape and reflect on how God would want us to treat each other. 

Y4 have been rounding numbers to the nearest multiple of 10. They enjoyed playing a game in order to practise doing this. 

Year 4 had a fantastic day today with Becca from West Cumbria Rivers trust. We learnt how to find places on an ordinance survey map and the names of river wildlife in a fun game of ‘Who am I?’ We then did an experiment with soil in different conditions to find out what is ‘good’ and ‘bad’ for…
