Year 3 went out into Egremont to identify human and physical features. We found lots more human features than physical. Whilst we walked, we also helped to look after God’s creation by picking up litter. We had a great time. Well done Year 3!

Year 3 have been using thick paint to create texture and marks to replicate Vincent Van Gogh’s style. Exploring his famous “Starry Night” was fun. 
 

Year 3 learnt how to write algorithms to code a pirate parrot and take a route around a treasure map. They used turns clockwise and anti-clockwise to code. They enjoyed giving directions and planning alternative routes. 
 

Year 3 developed their shading skills to get tints of colours. They added white to primary colours, then added white to change the tone. Their tints will be very useful for their colour mixing skills to be used during next week’s painting . 
 

We all enjoyed taking part in a rock band today. We heard some wonderful music and learnt how the instruments work. It was great fun! I am sure we have some rockstars in the making🤩😂🤩

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed having a rugby coach from St. Benedict’s School to teach them some skills. Some children will be attending a school tournament later this term to represent St. Bridget’s. It was lovely to have the opportunity for everyone to experience the game.

Year 3 enjoyed listening to each candidate’s manifesto and decided who would be their best School Councillors. All children that put themselves forward gave a great speech. They went to the voting station to elect their choices. The successful candidates are to be announced tomorrow.

Year 3 have been studying the work of Ruth Ringold and have started to create their own quilt pieces based on her work. They used cotton and fabric paint to design them. 
 

Year 3 have been studying Mandalas in Art and so we decided to create our own natural mandalas today. Gathering natural objects and arranging them in circular patterns was great fun. Nature is so colourful!

As part of their writing lessons on instructional texts, Year 3 have been using adverbs to improve instructions on creating zentangle patterns. They used the instructions to help Year 2 and themselves to create their own zentangle patterns. How wonderful their finished patterns were!
