Year 3 have been getting their hands dirty as they embarked on an exciting adventure beneath the surface of the Earth.

Using sieves, the children carefully sifted through the soil to investigate its contents. They were amazed to discover the variety of tiny animals, plant matter and other organic materials that make up this important part of our natural world.

As budding soil scientists, they explored how soil is made up of different materials and how each layer plays an important role in supporting plant life and providing habitats for a wide range of living organisms.

There were plenty of exciting discoveries, thoughtful observations and wonderful questions along the way! The children showed fantastic curiosity as they investigated what lies beneath the surface and developed a deeper understanding of the world beneath our feet.

Well done, Year 3, for digging deep, thinking like scientists and uncovering the wonders of our wonderful world.
