This week, Year 5 learned about the 2026 Ocean Day theme and why it is so important to protect our oceans.
We explored the many ways oceans help our planet. They provide homes for marine animals, produce oxygen, and support people around the world. We also discussed some of the challenges oceans face, such as pollution, plastic waste, and climate change.
To help spread awareness, the children worked hard to create colourful posters encouraging others to look after our oceans.
The pupils showed great enthusiasm and creativity while sharing ideas about how everyone can help protect marine life. Simple actions such as reducing plastic use, recycling, and keeping beaches clean can make a big difference.
We are very proud of Year 5 for their excellent work and for helping to inspire others to care for our oceans and the amazing wildlife that lives within them. Together, we can all play a part in keeping our oceans healthy for future generations.
