Our class stepped back in time on an exciting trip to Ancient Egypt, where pupils explored the different roles people played in Egyptian society. Using their oracy and debating skills, the children took on the roles of farmers, scribes, soldiers, priests and craftsmen, before presenting persuasive arguments to the Pharaoh about why their job was the most important. Pupils spoke confidently, listened carefully to others and used evidence to support their ideas, creating lively and thoughtful debates. The experience helped develop communication, teamwork and historical understanding, while bringing the wonders of Ancient Egypt to life.
