Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a story workshop with Sarah from Bright Sparks Forest School. The session began with the children passing sounds round the circle to promote their listening skills. Then they were introduced to Wise Owl who they shared their favourite stories with. Sarah told the children the story of Mama Africa who created new, original creatures using clay and other natural materials. She also illustrated the creature as it was created in the story. Eventually, the children created their own original creatures, named them, gave them homes and food before they incorporated their animals in to a whole class story. How marvellous it was to let their imaginations run wild and to create their own stories!
