Year 4 celebrated British Science Week by investigating the question: What makes the best hankie when you have a cold?
The children explored a range of different materials, including tissue paper, cotton, paper towel and cloth. They predicted which material would work best before carrying out an absorbency test using small amounts of water.
Our young scientists carefully observed how well each material soaked up the liquid and how strong it was when wet. They recorded their results and discussed their findings with their groups.
It was a fantastic investigation and a great way for Year 4 to practise their scientific enquiry skills while celebrating British Science Week!
