Year 5 had a fabulous morning at St Bees School taking part in a Chinese New Year workshop. The children learnt how to use chopsticks and played a traditional game called pitch-pot, where they tried to throw chopsticks into a pot – it was great fun!
They also made beautiful Chinese New Year lanterns and red envelopes, which are traditionally used to give money during New Year celebrations. To finish the session, they enjoyed some themed colouring activities.
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about and celebrate Chinese culture.
